“How is this different from a free plan I can get online or an app like Runna or Nike Run Club?”
Free plans and apps give you a schedule — but they can’t adapt when life, fatigue or injuries happen.
This group program includes personalized adjustments based on your schedule, fitness, and real life. Got a big hike coming up? I’ll shift your runs. Workouts feeling too easy or too tough? I’ll modify them. Worried about getting injured? We’ll monitor volume closely and build in strength and recovery strategies to keep you healthy.
You can also ask questions in the group chat anytime — so if something feels off, you get expert guidance fast. It’s flexible, responsive coaching without the 1:1 price tag.
“Will I actually get personalized coaching?”
Yes — but with a group format twist. Everyone has the same plan, but with slightly different weekly volumes and intervals based on your current fitness, experience, and marathon goals. The more I learn about you throughout the program, the greater customization I can give you. While it’s not 1:1 coaching, you’ll still have direct access to me via group chat and our weekly calls. Most runners ask the same questions in these calls that they would in private coaching — and still get thoughtful, helpful answers. You’re not on your own here.
How do I follow the workouts? Is it just a PDF?
Nope — it’s way better than a PDF.
You’ll get your own profile on Final Surge, a professional online training platform. Your workouts will be loaded into your personal calendar, and the platform syncs with your Garmin or smart watch so sessions are sent directly to your device — no guesswork, no scrolling through documents.
After each run, your stats automatically sync back to Final Surge. While I don’t monitor data daily (that’s reserved for 1:1 clients), I do review your progress and results when making program adjustments.
This gives you a structured, dynamic training experience — with the flexibility to fit your life and a coach to help guide your progress.
What if I fall behind or miss a week?
Totally normal — and part of being human! Just let me know and we’ll walk through smart tweaks together on our group calls or right in the chat. This way, you will learn how to pivot your plan when life happens for the future!
“I’ve never trained in a group before—what if I feel intimidated?”
This group is designed for regular runners, not elites. Everyone in here has the same goal: to train smarter and run their best marathon. The vibe is supportive, friendly, and encouraging. Think of it like a team, not a competition
How does the strength training work? Can I do it from home?
Yes — as long as you have a set of dumbbells and resistance bands, you can do the strength workouts from home.
The strength sessions are uploaded into your Final Surge calendar, just like your runs. Each workout includes exercise demos, written descriptions, sets, and reps — so you know exactly what to do and when to do it.
If you’re missing a piece of equipment or an exercise doesn’t feel quite right, just let me know in the group chat. I’ll send you alternative options that work with what you’ve got.
